Jail Ministry

Mission Statement

To provide programming that introduces people, whose lives intersect with the county justice system, to the person and Lordship of Jesus Christ, the disciplines of a Christian growth lifestyle, and the benefits of an abundant life in Christ.

The Program

The jail ministry was organized in 1995 and is presently incorporated as a non-denominational, non-profit, 501-c-3 ministry. The Board of Directors is comprised of local professional and business people who meet on a quarterly basis to provide direction and support for the chaplain and the ministry. John Boren has served as the chaplain since the beginning.

The Chaplain

John Boren can really understand the needs of the inmate. He accepted Jesus as his Savior just after his arrest in 1993. After spending some time in the county jail, seeing first hand the brokenness and the hopelessness, the Lord placed a burden on his heart to minister to the people there.
